About the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards:
Founded in the fall of 2003, the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards contest has helped launch the careers of dozens of talented new screenwriters from across the country and around the world.
While producers and agents often complain about how difficult it is to find great material, writers who have no personal connections in the industry have a very hard time penetrating the barriers of the Hollywood system. The PAGE Awards contest was designed to bridge that gap – giving new writers the opportunity to get their scripts into the hands of top industry professionals, while also serving as a much-needed resource for Hollywood producers, agents, managers, and development execs who are looking for talented new writers and exciting new scripts to produce.
Each year, the PAGE Judges present Gold, Silver, and Bronze Prizes in ten different genre categories — plus a $25,000 Grand Prize — and as a result of winning the contest, dozens of past winners have signed with top literary representatives, optioned their scripts, landed paid writing assignments, and many now have movies and television shows in production, on the air, and in theaters.
Most importantly, the PAGE Awards contest is judged entirely by working professionals in the film and television industry, so all contestants have the opportunity to get their scripts into the hands of Hollywood professionals currently in search of new talent.
