A common theme in country music is to keep on keeping on, no matter what happens. Writer/director Shana Feste knows that old adage all too well. She was the little filmmaker with the powerful voice that went from grad school to directing feature films in the blink of an eye. Praised for her first feature, The Greatest, starring Carey Mulligan and Pierce Brosnan, she hit the ground running on her second, a romantic drama about an up-and-coming country singer who goes on tour with a star who’s trying to make the comeback of her career. Country Strong stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw and newcomers Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester. It's got great tunes, a little bit of grit and a whole lotta drama. Script sat down with the Feste to find out how she brought this little country script to the Hollywood big screen.
