Waka T. Brown

Waka T. Brown is the author of the middle grade memoir While I Was Away (HarperCollins Children’s, 2021) and the writer and co-director of the short film Double Tap (Official Selection, 2018 DC Shorts and Portland Film Festivals). Her feature-length screenplays (comedies, romcoms, & animated features) have been 2nd-rounders at AFF, placed in the semifinals of PAGE, and quarterfinals of Screencraft writing competitions. Waka has also authored a variety of units and teacher’s guides on international topics through her work with the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education.
