On Thursday, Nov. 4, Script Magazine held its first-ever reader meetup! Screenwriters and entertainment industry-types of all levels and professions converged at Lily's Bar and Restaurant at the Roger Smith Hotel in New York City for an evening of networking, making new friends and imbibing (responsibly!) copious amounts of alcohol. The event was hosted by Script's west coast/web editor Joshua Stecker (@joshuascriptmag), and #Scriptchat's co-founders Jeanne Veillette Bowman (@jeannevb) and Kim Garland (@kageynyc). The turnout was more than expected, which made for an even better evening than we were anticipating. Script would like to thank everyone who came out to the meetup. Even Peter Riegert (Boon from Animal House) stopped by to say hi! It was a pleasure meeting each and every one of you!
Check Script magazine's Facebook page for our next Meetup, this time in Hollywood, date/time TBD.We're looking forward to doing more of these events in 2011. If anyone is interested in helping organize Script magazine meetups in other cities, email editor@finaldraft.com.

A special thanks to Miles Maker who interviewed a number of meetup attendees. Thanks, Miles!
