In the three decades we've been writing and sharing articles about screenwriting with our readers, we're often asked about screenwriting contests. With valuable input from experienced screenwriters and executives, we are proud to announce Script Magazine's Access Screenplay Contest, in partnership with Roadmap Writers!

The Access Screenplay Contest was founded with the express goal of discovering new talent and connecting those emerging writers with Industry decision makers.

We are seeking unproduced scripts from writers across the globe in the following categories:

Feature film
Television pilot
Web series
Short film

Our team is well versed in the discovery process. Script Magazine, a division of The Writers Store, has over 20 years of contest experience and over 30 years experience educating aspiring and professional writers. Our contests, pitch events, and feedback services have resulted in enormous success, with many of our screenwriting contest alumni securing representation and gaining unmatched access to Industry execs.

So how do we do it? Our process is similar to that of the studio system. Our team of experienced readers will grade your submission based on the same criteria used by studios, production companies, and Industry Execs. From there scripts are organized based on their scores, with top submissions receiving an additional read from our panel of judges.

Your talent is all you need to succeed, but it won’t get you far if it hasn’t been seen. Our years of experience and Industry access can connect you with the Industry greats who can skyrocket your career.

Roadmap Writers aims to bridge the gap between fresh, talented voices and the industry execs who can make things happen through educational and marketing programs.

Roadmap is a hub for writers who have the talent, put in the work, and take advantage of every opportunity to build relationships with executives from all corners of the industry. Roadmap's motto is "Get Real. Get Ready. Get Traction." Roadmap has helped 19 writers get signed to places like Circle of Confusion, Gotham Group, Gersh and The Shuman Company and projects picked up by Route One Entertainment, Untitled Entertainment and the Hawk Koch Company. Roadmap is also working with the WGA and the PGA on Gender Diversity Initiatives.

By entering the Access Screenplay Contest, you put yourself in the running for a total of 100 prizes!

Each category (feature film, television pilot, web series, and short film) will have 25 semi-finalists, 10 finalists will be selected from each pool of semi-finalists, and one grand prize winner will be chosen from each pool of finalists.

Each semi-finalist will earn a spot in our Logline Directory, sent to over 100 Industry Executives. They will also receive a mention on our ScriptMag.com site.

Each finalist will have a Skype or phone meeting with selected judges. They will receive a highlighted mention on our ScriptMag.com site, as well as the Roadmap Writers Educational Package.
